China Takes Multiple Measures to Support University Graduate Employment

Beijing, June 10, 2025 (Xinhua) – Chinese education authorities and universities have implemented a variety of measures this year to support the employment of university graduates. The Ministry of Education has worked with economically developed regions and areas with high job demand, in collaboration with relevant industry authorities and local governments, to organize 12 regional job fairs, offering over 350,000 job opportunities.

The ministry has also encouraged university officials and Communist Party secretaries to visit companies and explore employment opportunities. As of June 6, these visits have helped generate more than 4.7 million job opportunities for graduates.

In addition, the ministry has launched a program aimed at enhancing the employability of university students, with a focus on expanding knowledge and skills relevant to emerging industries. The initiative includes the launch of 1,000 short-term courses and 1,000 vocational training programs nationwide for targeted groups.

The ministry is also urging for special support to ensure employment for graduates facing difficulties.

According to official data, the number of university graduates in China is expected to reach 12.22 million in 2025, an increase of 430,000 compared to last year.
